Counting plates with perforations retain tablets or capsules supported by a sliding base plate. Apertures in the base plate allow surplus tablets to fall through to the bottom section of the Tumatic for return to the bulk container. Partial or full withdrawal of the sliding plate releases the tablets in multiples of 5 or 10, depending on size. Five counting plates are supplied as standard; four may be used for all sizes of tablet up to a maximum diameter of ½" (12½") and the fifth counts capsules up to ¾" (19mm) long. Available as an optional extra is a special plate for larger capsules and tablets up to 500mg.
